A Halo, a Head Low, and Black Bean Brownies

I had a dream where I was sharing a living space with a lot of people. My mom was there with some friends of hers, and I was with a group of just people. Dan was one of them.

He was sitting in a corner with another guy, playing a game and drinking tea with some kind of honey that was really yummy, or really good for your brain. My mom was playing cards with her friends.

And then there was a place for me.

I found a ton of old pictures from when I was younger. In one of them, I had this chili pepper pillow for Christmas. I was wearing a long gray sweater that I remember having, and my friend Will was in the picture with me.

There were old tapes and CDs, Polaroids, and some drawings, I believe. Things from decades ago that somehow became really useful in my today life.

Then I ended up at an excavation site. A guy had videotaped something he’d found there—an old relic, a footprint, or some old something in the mud.

I had an old Jeep, and I was driving it up a muddy hill when it got stuck. I was able to literally pick it up and push it to the top with my hands, like it was a miracle. It was amazing.

The guy got caught, but I had seen where he put the video. In front of the cops, he acted like he was hiding it in a little passport pocket in a pouch. Really, he had slipped it into a secret pocket in his pants.

I knew which house he was staying at, so I was going to get it out of his pants pocket. His small son had been there when he got caught, and he’d seen it too. We were going to link up and connect over that.

Then I was back in the house with everyone.

Carlisle was being really tough to read and to get to. I kept hugging her and telling her I loved her, but she just wouldn’t believe me. I kept telling her that I truly felt a connection with her, that I truly really liked her. She couldn’t believe it could be true.

Finally, I hugged her and said, “You are an angel to me. You are truly an angel to me. I’m gonna get you a halo.”

“A head low,” she said.

It was so funny. In my dream, I went and wrote it down: a head low.

Then I was changing into a khaki bikini because we were going to lie by some water. But the room I was in was a mess. A mess. I couldn’t find the bikini top.

My mom came in, and I said, “Where’s this top?”

“I don’t know, Brooks. This room is a mess, though.”

So I needed to clean it up.

Then I made black bean brownies for my mom. She was having friends over to play another game that night, and she wanted me to make some for them.

In my dream, I remembered that I was going to a meditation tonight and should take some black bean brownies. Then I woke up and remembered: I’m going to make black bean brownies for the meditation at Jennifer’s tonight.

There was more to the dream. I’ll have to get back to you about it. I just woke up, and those brownies are on my mind.

But it was such a cool dream. Warm and comforting. I was being really loving to everyone, and everyone was feeling very loved. Jan was there too. We were all doing something artsy, and I was going through all those old things of mine.

And Dan, with his healthy tea and that honey, was playing some kind of old Japanese game with tiles. He was teaching the other guy, and they were getting along really well. It was right up his alley. He was at peak performance, feeling really good about himself.

That’s totally opposite from here on earth. He believes he’s not good at anything, so much so that he just got disability for his mental state. Which, I mean, I don’t know.

But anyway, that was my dream. Really cool.

I’m loving the dreams I’m having. I’m just in love with them. So in love with all of them.
