If You Have a Heart, You Have a Superpower

If you have a heart, you have a superpower.

And heroes have superpowers.

So I think we all have a little bit of hero in us.

Think about what a hero really is. A hero is a helper. A friend. A protector. A person willing to reach out a hand. Heroes are compassionate. They’re kind. They stand beside the underdog. They show up when somebody needs them.

And if we all carry a little bit of that hero inside of us, then maybe part of this rising consciousness we’re experiencing is simply humanity remembering how to use its heart.

Maybe we’re becoming a little nicer.

A little softer.

A little more willing to notice one another.

Because your superpower doesn’t disappear depending on where you are in life. It’s there from the very beginning.

Babies are superheroes. Think about what they do. They bring people together. They create families. They awaken love in people that they didn’t even know existed. A mother may not be able to have a baby, and then a baby comes into her life through adoption and becomes one of the greatest blessings she could ever imagine.

That’s a superpower.

And animals? I think they’re angels. True angels. They love without needing explanations. They comfort us without asking what’s wrong. They remind us over and over again how uncomplicated love can actually be.

Maybe we could learn something from them.

Open your heart.

Open your mind to generosity.

Reach out your hand.

Take the next right step—or maybe just take one step closer to somebody you’ve fallen out of touch with. Somebody you really do love, but life got busy and somehow time passed.

Send them a postcard.

Call them.

Tell somebody you were thinking about them.

Do something that requires just a little bit of effort, because sometimes that little bit of effort is exactly what reminds another human being that they matter.

And I believe hearts open hearts.

When we allow ourselves to become more loving, more generous, more compassionate, and more present, something changes in the people around us too. Love moves outward. Kindness moves outward. One person’s open heart gives another person permission to open theirs.

And maybe that’s how consciousness really rises—not all at once, but heart by heart.

Person by person.

Choice by choice.

The hope is that war fades and peace rises.

The hope is that humanity learns to respect itself, each other, the animals, and this beautiful place we’ve been given to live.

The hope is simply that we continue to grow in love.

Because if you have a heart, you already have the superpower.

You just have to remember to use it.
